Patrick De Pelsmacker

Patrick De Pelsmacker is professor of marketing at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, where he teaches courses in marketing communications, marketing and communication management, marketing research, and research methods. He is the former dean of the Universiteit Antwerpen Management School (now Antwerp Management School). He has lectured on marketing, marketing research, and marketing communications throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Professor De Pelsmacker earned his PhD in economics from the University of Ghent, Belgium.

Professor De Pelsmacker’s research interests include consumer behavior, marketing communications and new advertising formats. His research has been published in many international academic journals, such as Applied Economics, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Advances in Consumer Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business and Psychology, Marketing Letters, Cyberpsychology and Behavior, Journal of Interactive Advertising, Health Communication, International Marketing Review, Psychology and Marketing, Educational and Psychological Measurement, Psychological Reports, Operations Research Insights, Review of Econometrics, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Business Ethics. He is co-author of several books on marketing research techniques and marketing communications, and has contributed chapters to various books on advertising, marketing, and management.

Outside of academia, Professor De Pelsmacker regularly provides strategic advice to companies and international organizations, and is involved in executive training programs.
