Prof. François Degeorge holds a Senior Chair from the Swiss Finance Institute and is former Dean of the Faculty of Economics. He is a former President of the European Finance Association. His research in corporate finance has been published in leading academic journals. Before teaching at USI he has taught at HEC Paris, where he also served as Associate Dean for Research.
He has been a visiting professor at the Tuck School of Business (Dartmouth), at Université Paris-Dauphine, and at the Saïd Business School (Oxford). He is a former Fulbright and Arthur Sachs scholar.
He has received the following awards: 2014 WRDS Outstanding Empirical Paper Award at the Southern Finance Association; FMA Best Paper in Corporate Finance (2013), EFMA Best Paper Award (2013), AFFI Best Paper Award (2012), Banque Privée Espirito Santo/Swiss Finance Institute Research Prize (2009), Credit Suisse Teaching Award (2005-2006), SWX Best Paper Award (2006), Merton Miller Prize (2000); Inquire Europe First Prize (1998 and 2003); the HEC Foundation Prize in 1994; and in 1993 he was nominated for the Smith Breeden Prize.
