Craig S. Fleisher

Professor of Public Affairs, author and internationally renowned expert on intelligence analysis.

Craig S. Fleisher is a prolific author and internationally renowned expert on analytics and the management of public affairs communication. He is Chief Learning Officer and Director, Professional Development with the 20+ year-old Wisconsin-based professional services firm Aurora WDC. In addition to having served as President or Chair of three international or national professional associations in Canada and the US, he has been a member of university faculties in the US, Australia, Canada, Finland, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK. Professor Fleisher earned his PhD at the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.

Professor Fleisher’s primary research interests are in the management of boundary-spanning functions. A Google Scholar top cited author in several fields, he has authored over 100 refereed papers and chapters in a variety of publications, including the Journal of Public Affairs, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Communication Management, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Marketing Management, Public Relations Review, and Journal of Strategic Marketing, among others. He is co-editor of the SAGE International Handbook of Corporate and Public Affairs (2017), as well as the author of the award-winning efforts Handbook of Public Affairs (Sage, 2006), Assessing, Managing and Maximizing Public Affairs Performance (Public Affairs Council, 1997) and Public Affairs Benchmarking (Public Affairs Council, 1995).  He is associate editor of the Journal of Public Affairs and editorial board member of six other scholarly journals.

Professor Fleisher has helped leading multinational companies and institutions improve the impact, management and measurement of public affairs. A life member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), member of the Canadian Who's Who, he is an International CI Fellow and was recognized by the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) association as a Meritorious award winner (its highest international honor). His representative clients have included numerous government agencies or departments, and leading businesses in over two dozen countries such as 3M, CIBC, Exxon-Mobil, IBM, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, Levi Strauss, Merck & Co., Molson Group, Philip Morris Companies, Proctor & Gamble, Sandoz, Shell, Toronto Stock Exchange, and UBS, among others.
