The new EMScom Alumni Association's Executive Committee works closely with the EMScom program to further enhance networking among alumni and to provide a knowledge exchange platform to its members on an international level.
Katie Kurz, EMScom13
Katie has lived in Switzerland for nearly twelve years now, having served in various senior communication roles in consumer packaged goods, financial services and biotech industries. Outside of her professional work, Katie is an advocate for global literacy and educational equality, partnering with the education non-profit organization called Room to Read. An avid outdoor enthusiast and runner, she loves being in the nature or exploring new cities. Katie maintains close alumni connections with her school, university and sorority in the United States, and she is committed to doing the same for the EMScom Alumni Association.
Nicola Strazzari, Head of Research and Development, Vision Plus Media Enterprises, EMScom16
As an EMScom16, I have just entered the exciting second half of the program. Really enjoying the experience, the involvement with colleagues and faculties, I would like to continue the engagement in the venue of the Alumni Association.
Head of Research and Strategic Development for Vision Plus Media Enterprises, a small London based media company, and adjunct professor of International Political Economy, I would certainly bring in the association a diversified background alongside an international perspective matured living in Asia for four years.
Matthias Müller, EMScom17
Matthias Müller is Senior Strategic Consultant at Notch Interactive AG in Zürich. In his role he has developed communication-, social- and content strategies for national and international brands. Further he is specialised in brand positioning development, brand-management projects, deployment of consumer-, market- or brand-insights. His clients experience include banking, insurance, consumer goods, energy and utilities, pharmaceuticals and automotive. He is part of the Account Planning Group Switzerland and lecturer for brand and content strategies. Matthias strongly believes that in times of communication transformation the value and power of the alumni- network is key in order to connect the right communication people. He is eager to bring his communication insights in to the EMScom network in order to sustain the quality and value of the alumni association.
Oliver Bertschinger, Owner, Obeco, EMScom15
Oliver has extensive experience in Corporate Communications and especially Media Relations. Furthermore, he was responsible for the development of Corporate Identities of a diverse set of companies and organizations. Presently he is Vice President of an association (IG Flughafen Zürich/Zurich airport community of interests) supporting Switzerland's largest airport, leading the association's communication activities, and he runs his own consulting business. «I would love to help the Alumni association grow and flourish to help attract potential students. As Member of the Board I will contribute to the association gaining more visibility and to developing additional benefits and events for its members.»
Niina Eschmann, Group Vice President / Head of Brand Management, ABB, EMScom13
Niina is originally from Finland and now resides in Basel, Switzerland. She is Group Vice President / Head of Brand Management at ABB. In the past, Niina was Managing Partner of Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse AG, an agency supporting companies, brands and people in developing the next level solutions in brand management and communications. She has also been responsible for brand management at Axpo, a leading Swiss energy company, and later for strategy and business communications within the Axpo Group. She has also worked on the agency side in Germany and founded her own consulting agency. Niina has been confronted with a full range of communications and brand management challenges throughout her career and found the EMScom experience of being very helpful and valuable, both personally and professionally. She is looking forward to contributing in creating ideas and opportunities for alumni and to playing an active role in working towards the further success of the network.
Martin Radke, Owner, Radtke Kommunikation, EMScom18
Martin Radtke runs his own Communication Consultant Company, Radtke Kommunikation, in Uster, close to Zurich. For some clients, he works as Head of Communications and provides services such as strategic consultancy, media relations, branding, marketing communications, fund raising, internal communications and corporate publishing. The clients work in the different fields health, transportation, education and IT. For almost every mandate his special knowledge and wide experience in cross media public relations is required. Martin strongly believes that intercultural exchange, shared thoughts and different views are important for better solutions. Therefore, he will help to provide platforms where EMScom-Alumni-networkers can meet, learn, refresh, talk – and have some fun.
Ilaria Juon, Head of Operations, EMScom program
Alumni Relations Officer
Ilaria Juon was born and raised in Lugano. She studied at the Tourism Management School in Bellinzona where she graduated in January 2002. She lived in New York City for one year while completing an internship in the hospitality industry. Upon her return to Lugano, she started working for the EMScom. She joined the Executive MScom in April 2002 and her function as Program Manager has been instrumental in fostering the growth and success of the program. Ilaria is the so-called "glue" that keeps the program running smoothly from day to day, year to year. Her passions include scuba diving, skiing, hiking, traveling, reading and dog training.
