Evaluation of communication activities is consistently named as one of the top concerns of communication professionals. Yet paradoxically not even half reportedly undertake any evaluation.  Drawing from his recent PhD studies and over a decade of experience in evaluating communication campaigns and programmes,  Glenn O'Neil will set out the challenges and complexities of evaluation and offer insights into solutions and approaches to ensure that evaluation brings value to communication professionals and their organisations.

Glenn O'Neil, EMScom1 alumnus

As founder of Owl RE, Glenn O'Neil has led evaluation, research and communication projects for international organisations, NGOs and companies for over a decade. Recent clients have included the International Committee of the Red Cross, Oxfam, UN Human Rights, MSF and EU bodies.   Co-author of the Intelligent Measurement blog, Glenn holds a PhD in social research and methodology from the London School of Economics and an Executive Master of Science in Communications Management from USI Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano.
